COORDINATION SYSTEM IN PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF POLICY FOR BALANCED REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Project: Climate friendly health institutions
PROJECT DETAILS
The project will strengthen health systems to deal with health threats from climate change, including emergencies related to extreme weather events. The project will address the needs of climate change-related diseases by supporting the preparation of health adaptation strategies for both municipalities and formulating adaptation plans that will require action by the health system. The project will provide the health sector in the municipalities of Stip and Goce Delchev with information, tools and advice for active participation in the local, national and regional mechanisms for climate change. The preparation of the health sector to reduce the risks of climate change to human health should begin with the development of climate-friendly health institutions and institutions responsible for the environment. The project will solve these challenges by implementing measures for mitigation of climate change with reconstruction of part of the hospital in Stip and partial reconstruction of the hospital in Goce Delchev (to reduce greenhouse gas emissions), as well as implementation of measures for adaptation, replacement on the equipment in the hospital in Goce Delchev, which will result in reduced water consumption.
