The Municipality of Demir Hisar is a rural agricultural municipality that is geographically connected with at least 5 other Pelagonija municipalities and through which, due to the excellent road connection, several thousand inhabitants of Krushevo, Bitola and Krivogashtani gravitate daily. At the moment, the municipality of Demir Hisar does not have an organized, systematic, functional and safe space for the sale of agricultural products that are produced on its territory or on the territory of neighboring agricultural municipalities. In Demir Hisar, the number of farmers who are either local producers or come from the neighboring municipalities of Krivogashtani, Mogila, Resen (due to different market days with Demir Hisar) and sell their products is at least 100, and the number of buyers of agricultural products, before from Demir Hisar, Krushevo and Bitola is at least 2,000. Trade in regional agricultural products (apple, early vegetable products, watermelon, fruit - depending on the season) is a significant potential for increasing the regional competitiveness of Pelagonija, but it must be practiced in a structured way, in a functional and safe space according to modern standards and regulations. The project will overcome the unorganized trade in regional agricultural products and will introduce an organized system of sales in a functional and protected location.
