The municipality of Krivogastani is a rural municipality with 12 settlements and 5167 inhabitants (according to the initial information from the 2021 census). One of the biggest problems in the municipality is the collection and disposal of municipal solid waste in the populated areas of the municipality. The public utility company Pelagonia Krivogashtani carries out this activity completely only in 4 settlements: Krivogashtani, Slavej, Vrbjani and Krusheani, while it is partially collected with installed waste containers in the settlements of Korenica, Godivle, Podvis, Bela Crkva, Vođani, Pashino Ruvci and Borotino. The containers are emptied once a week with a special utility vehicle. The public utility company Pelagonia has a dedicated waste collection vehicle with a capacity of 8+1m3 purchased with a donation from the Embassy of Japan and has about 60 correct metal containers that are picked up by the special vehicle and about 700 plastic bins of 120l that are picked up by tractor with trailer. In order to fully solve the problem of municipal solid waste and reduce illegal landfills, it is necessary to purchase an additional 60 metal waste containers of 1.1 m3 as well as 1000 plastic waste bins with a capacity of 120 liters. Also, according to legal regulations, it is necessary to start sorting the waste, and the municipality does not have a single container for sorting plastic, glass and cardboard. For this purpose, it is planned to acquire 15 containers with a capacity of 1.1m3 for plastic and 15 containers with a capacity of 1.1m3 for paper. The containers will be distributed in all settlements according to the size of the settlements.
