According to Article 28 of the law on animal welfare, the municipality is competent to collect homeless dogs, i.e. unregistered dogs and registered dogs, if they are found on public lands without the presence of the owner, and to temporarily place them in appropriate facilities - shelters. In these facilities, elementary protection of the animals from unfavorable weather conditions should be ensured and their effective closure should be ensured. The special vehicle and equipment for the capture of stray dogs will help to fulfill the objectives of the law by ensuring that it is carried out by qualified persons in a manner that does not cause unnecessary pain or suffering as required by the animal welfare law itself.
