The problem that is solved by the project Construction of infrastructure for environmental protection in the Pelagonian region is the decade-long pollution and destruction of the environment in the Pelister National Park. In particular, the existing commercial facilities in the NP Pelister located around the site of Begova Cheshma and Hotel Molika discharge fecal and waste water flows freely and causes intense pollution of the park, atrophy of the environment around the location of the discharge, and due to the limited self-purification power of nature in low water conditions, conditions are created for the development of anaerobic decomposition of organic substances and the appearance of stench. The need for intervention arises due to the protection of nature and the preservation of the status of the National Park of Pelister as the highest form of protection of natural wealth in the country. The park was declared a national treasure in 1948 and re-declared in 2007, when its territory was increased to 17,150 ha. The Pelister National Park is home to many endemic species of flora and fauna that are directly threatened by the free discharge of sewage and fecal waters. The preservation of the environment in the Park directly contributes to the fulfillment of the overall goals at the regional and national level for the protection of natural rarities in the country. In particular, according to the criteria for regionality of BRR, although the project is implemented on the territory of two municipalities (the park extends over the territory of the municipalities of Bitola and Resen) in the planning region, the results of the implementation have an unequivocal impact in solving the problems of the territories of several municipalities, so and in the country.
