COORDINATION SYSTEM IN PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF POLICY FOR BALANCED REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Strengthening of PUC capacities through the purchase of equipment
PROJECT DETAILS
The economic and social development of JZPR depends on the degree of connection and accessibility to the available resources, the modern communal infrastructure equipment and arrangement of the space. That is why infrastructural development, in this sense, is an unavoidable factor for the development of the South-West planning region. The utility sector refers to a category of enterprises that provide the basic-essential needs of the population, such as water supply, waste and stormwater drainage, municipal waste management, arrangement and equipment of public spaces, and the representation of other related activities that are of public interest for citizens. Utilities manage a significant infrastructure, and from that aspect they need a continuous flow of funds to finance the ongoing maintenance and upgrading of the infrastructure, as well as the acquisition of new assets, to improve the level of services they provide. Communal services play a vital role in the economic and social development of municipalities. Local authorities, as well as central government, are responsible for ensuring reliable universal access to communal services, in accordance with regulatory frameworks. The goal of this project is to strengthen the capacities of the public utilities operating in the municipalities in the Southwest planning region. In that context, below are explained the needs for the purchase of vehicles, mechanization and other means that will modernize the equipment of PUC in the nine municipalities of the Region.
