Road transport and infrastructure in the Southeast Planning Region play a key role in economic development, increasing the number of tourists in the region, improving communication between citizens of the surrounding settlements, farmers' access to their fields and large markets and developing modern and functional infrastructure, as well as the living standard of the population as a whole. Regional roads provide access to the main road corridors and the main road network and together with local roads are of great importance for the development of the local economy, attracting new investments, small businesses and agricultural activities throughout the country. Road infrastructure is well developed in the Southeast region, although there are conditions for its improvement. The length and quality of the local road infrastructure are satisfactory and are not below European standards. The trend of increasing the length of asphalt roads is positive. However, new local roads and improvement of existing roads are needed, especially between settlements in municipalities and between municipalities. Exactly through this project "Revitalization of the road Bogorodica - Stojakovo, crossroads with the regional road Gevgelija - Bogdanci 2nd phase" is planned renewal of the road Bogorodica - Stojakovo 2nd phase. The first phase includes the road Bogorodica - Stojakovo, crossroads with the regional road Gevgelija - Bogdanci at the gas station Shimov in the length of 4.5 km and for its revitalization, ie. laying a new layer of asphalt, a request has been submitted for the use of financial resources from the Program for financial support of rural development for 2018 through the Agency for financial support in agriculture and rural development. The settlement of Bogorodica is located in the southernmost part of the Republic of Macedonia, on the border with the Republic of Greece, and is part of Fr. Gevgelija which has an altitude of 64 m and an area of ​​485 km2. There are 22,988 inhabitants in the municipality, of which about 15,685 inhabitants in the municipal center Gevgelija, and the rest in the settlements. The primary axis of development passes through the territory of the municipality of Gevgelija, which extends along the Vardar valley in the north-south direction and is part of Corridor 10. The border position of the municipality of Gevgelija with the Republic of Greece is very important, as possibility for locating economic capacities, which require a large transport of raw materials and finished products, where the proximity of the port of Thessaloniki is a significant comparative advantage. The road Bogorodica - Stojakovo, a crossroads with the regional road Gevgelija - Bogdanci, is a road connection between the municipalities of Gevgelija and Bogdanci, ie between the settlements Bogorodica and Stojakovo. Because the road was asphalted 40 years ago, the communication of the population from these two settlements is difficult. Due to the weather conditions and the intensive use, this road is in a very bad condition and this condition has imposed the need for its renewal or revitalization. Also, since these are settlements where the predominant activity is agriculture, the use of this road causes problems for farmers, increased transport costs and losses due to reduced quality of agricultural products. As a result of the Mediterranean climate, agriculture and food production have always been important for the good standard and economic development of the municipality, as well as for the whole Southeast region. Here, a wide range of fruits and vegetables are grown, including products that are typical of the Mediterranean region, such as figs, olives, pomegranates, grapes, kiwis and others. In addition to greenhouse products, different types of flowers are grown under greenhouses. The agricultural land covers an area of ​​7,800 ha, of which 3,260 ha are used as arable land and gardens, 1000 ha are planted with vineyards, 170 ha with apples, 100 ha are other orchards, 300 ha are meadows, 2652 ha are pastures, 28350 ha are under the forest, the survivors are barren land. About 4/5 of the arable land belongs to individual farmers, 1/5 to legal entities. The construction of this local road will improve the communication between the citizens of the settlements Bogorodica and Stojakovo, which together have about 830 households or about 3000 inhabitants and will provide safer transport of passengers and goods. Agricultural producers will have the opportunity to reduce the transport costs of agricultural products and improve the quality of products because the favorable climatic conditions that exist in the whole valley, are good potentials for quality food and eco products. The revitalization of this road will enable fresh vegetables to be more easily transported to Macedonian markets, but also to be exported abroad. The revitalization of this road in the length of 2100 meters and width of 5.5 meters consists of removing the old asphalt from the road and its removal, cleaning and coating with emulsion, laying a leveling layer and laying new asphalt. The activities are described in more detail in the bill of quantities which is an integral part of this application. The construction of the road v. Bogorodica - v. Stojakovo leads to the improvement of the road infrastructure in the region and the improvement of the living and working conditions of the citizens, which enables greater economic development of the entire Southeast region.
