To the north the municipality of Valandovo borders with the municipality of Konce, to the east with the municipality of Strumica, to the southeast are the municipality of Dojran and the municipality of Bogdanci, and to the west with the municipality of Gevgelija. The roads leading to Strumica and Dojran, as well as the E-75 highway pass through the territory of the municipality of Valandovo. It is 26 km away from the border crossing Dojran and 30 km from the border crossing Bogorodica, as well as 48 km from the border crossing Novo Selo, which guarantees a favorable geographical position and easy access. The territory of the municipality of Valandovo extends to 331 square kilometers. Immediately above the town of Valandovo, a 2.6 km long road provides access to the regional cultural heritage of the beautiful monastery of St. Gorgi. The investment in order to improve the accessibility of local tourist attractions, by improving the tourist infrastructure - widening the existing road and reconstruction of resorts, will have a positive impact on tourism throughout the region. The current access to this location is with inadequate infrastructure (small width of the road), lack of parking spaces and rest which negatively affects the number of visitors, lack of information boards and signposts, helps visitors to learn less about the local history and culture that leads to spend some time on the spot. The tourist trail is located near the town of Valandovo on the mountain Plavush. This place is mostly visited by locals, very often small groups and individual travelers from neighboring regions and countries. The existing road is also used by the locals for outdoor activities, such as hiking and cycling. In addition to all this, this project will not only affect the enrichment of the tourist offer and the development of tourism in the region, but also the economic development in the Southeast planning region. By arranging this place, the locals will have the opportunity to offer certain catering services, accommodation for visitors, organizing sports activities and events for which they could also provide financial benefit. With the construction of the trails, the widening of the road, the resorts, the information boards, the places with the installation of fitness equipment, the children's playground and the installation of the telescope on the tower, as well as the parking for motor vehicles, this place will be visited by domestic and foreign tourists. They will also help in the tourist and economic development of the municipality of Valandovo and the whole region. With the arrangement there is a great potential for attracting tourists transiting in the area, on the way to Dojran, Greece and Bulgaria. With that it is expected to get an integrated visit with easy outdoor activity and connection of recreational areas with natural and cultural significance (natural attraction "Kafolj", ancient aqueducts, locality Izvor, tower "Isar". The target groups of this project are: the local population of the municipality of Valandovo, the population of the Southeast region as well as some of the foreign and domestic tourists. Direct beneficiaries are all residents of the Southeast region.
