PROJECT DETAILS

The general goal of the project is to improve accessibility to the natural heritage through joint activities for the development of tourism and tourist activities in the two municipalities and increase the tourist potential in the covered cross-border region. The activities of the project provide a joint tourist offer of the monastery of Saint Joakim Osogovski in Kriva Palanka and the Clock Tower in Dupnica. This approach tries to emphasize the cohesion of the monuments in the entire cross-border region as a unique offer and a great attraction for a tourist visit. The project will contribute to establishing conditions for cultural exchange between people, building bridges between interests and mutual potentials for future cooperation and sustainable development of a competitive tourist offer through joint activities. in addition, the promotion of the cultural heritage in Dupnica and Kriva Palanka will be carried out through modern technologies. A platform will be created where visitors and tourists can find information about cultural monuments, events and other attractions in both municipalities. Apart from the actual presentation of the two monuments, detailed information about them - how they were found, the history behind them and more - will also be created and implemented. The information will be presented in 3 languages - Bulgarian, Macedonian and English. In addition to achieving direct results, the envisaged measures will lead to the promotion and determination of the rich cultural and natural resources in the region and will raise the awareness of end users and stakeholders about the potential for the development of alternative forms of tourism. This project will have a significant impact on the planning of investments in the common cultural heritage, as it will provide tools and knowledge on how to attract more EU funds for the preservation and exploitation of the common cultural and historical heritage.
