PROJECT DETAILS

The project aims to increase capacities for the prevention, management and overcoming of natural disasters by supplying specialized equipment for natural disasters. It also aims to increase public awareness among young people, as well as the visibility of the project and the achieved results. With the implementation of the project, 2 (two) press conferences will be held. Publications will be made in regional, national media, municipal websites and social platforms. Informative brochures presenting flood prevention measures, the role of the population, etc. will be prepared and distributed. Through this activity, the awareness and visibility of the project and the achieved results will increase. Within the project, the Lead Partner will provide a special vehicle for fire interventions and complicated snow conditions. The acquired specialized equipment will result in the limitation of damage from fires and complicated snow conditions and the protection of the population and the environment in the cross-border region. It will provide investments for adaptation and mitigation of the effects of climate change for 13,337 people (from Berovo) who benefit from forest fire protection. The project partner will procure a special vehicle for flood and fire interventions. The acquired specialized equipment will result in the reduction of damages from fires and floods and the protection of the population and the environment in the cross-border region. It will provide investments for adapting and mitigating the effects of climate change for 36,351 people (from Sandanski, Strumjani and Kresna) who have protection against floods and forest fires. Within the framework of the project, training on "Increasing the capacity of volunteer formations (VF) for the prevention, management and overcoming of natural disasters" will be conducted. Within 80 academic hours, volunteers from both countries will go through a specialized training course in the field of firefighting and rescue activities. With this activity, 20 volunteers will be trained - 10 from the Blagoevgrad region (the municipalities of Strumjani, Sandanski and Kresna) and 10 from Berovo.
