the project aims to increase firefighting capacities by supplying specialized equipment for disaster management and by training professional firefighters, as well as by developing a Standard Operating Procedure for dealing with forest fires. It also aims to increase public awareness and visibility of the project and the achieved results. With the implementation of the project, initial and final press conferences will be held. By broadcasting the journalists' announcements from press conferences on radio, TV and online media, the general public in the border region will become familiar with the project. 100 sets of information material will be prepared and distributed. Through this activity, the awareness and visibility of the project and the achieved results will increase. Within the framework of the project, training for building the capacities of firefighters in Shtip will be implemented. The practical training will acquaint firefighters in Macedonia with the essentials of forest fire behavior and suppression techniques and will give participants a chance to practice firefighting under controlled conditions before facing a forest fire. The training will include theoretical knowledge and practical exercises necessary for the training of forest firefighters. This activity will accumulate basic knowledge in the fight against forest fires and will increase the firefighting capacity of 35 trained professional firefighters. Within the framework of the project, the two partners will acquire complete fire extinguishing equipment and other protective equipment. The purchased equipment will improve the response capacity of the fire and security services in cases of fires in forests and terrains, needs and gaps in the existing equipment of both partners. This equipment will create an opportunity for a quick and timely response in case of forest fires of the Local Service for Fire Protection and Civil Protection - Gotse Delchev and the fire service of the Municipality of Shtip, the firefighting vehicles will be completed, while at the same time they will aim to reduce the harmful effects and losses of forest fires.
