PROJECT DETAILS

The main activity of the project is the construction of 2 automatic observation towers for the detection of forest fires in the municipalities of Nevestino and Makedonska Kamenica and the delivery of equipment for control centers, which will be located in the selected cross-border area. Forest fires affect not only the environment, but also the economy, society and human health. The project represents a step forward towards the ecological problem of firefighting in the border region and ensuring future cooperation between partners in the field of fire safety and environmental protection. Focus is given to the development of a Joint Action Plan in accordance with EU best practices (Risk Management Plan and Forest Fire Prevention Plan) to ensure all the necessary procedures and tactics that will guarantee the effectiveness of the measures taken in case of critical situations in the cross-border region. Raising awareness among the people of the selected cross-border region about the causes of human-caused fires.
