Gorno Orizari (Veles region) is a village located in the western part of the Municipality of Veles in the lower catchment area of ​​the river Topolka, near the city of Veles. According to the last census from 2002, the village has 2,262 inhabitants and is one of the largest settlements in Veles. Gorno Orizari is a village inhabited by the largest Bosniak community in the Republic of Northern Macedonia. 162 houses in the village belong to the inhabitants of the Bosniak community, 25 houses to the inhabitants of the Albanian community, 8 houses to the inhabitants of the Roma community, in one house live members of the Turkish community, and in one house lives a Macedonian family. Gorno Orizari It is about 8 km away from the city center of Veles, while the distance from the outskirts of the city is only 2 km. The village is mostly flat and is located at 310 meters average altitude. The population in Gorno Orizari is traditionally oriented towards agriculture and animal husbandry, but today, to a large extent, the population also exists from temporary work abroad. The flat terrain and the warm climate enable the cultivation of various crops: cereals (wheat, barley, corn and rice to a lesser extent), industrial (tobacco, poppy, sunflower, etc.) horticultural (watermelon, cabbage, tomatoes, peppers) fodder (clover and etc.) From livestock, the most common breeding is cattle, sheep, bees and poultry. A large part of the population of Gorno Orizari, due to the proximity to the city of Veles, finds its existence there, participating in daily migrations. The village has a post office and an ambulance. In it you can find shops and catering facilities. Currently, according to the database of legal entities, 77 legal entities and 11 sole proprietors are registered in the village of Gorno Orizari. The access road to the village of Orizari is located at the former Svilara, as a connection to the regional road R1312 Veles-Bogomila. The length of this access is 935.07m and it is a dirt road that has been compacted several times, but due to the configuration of the terrain and the weather conditions, the buffer slipped and blew. The width of the road is about 3.5 m in some places and over 4 m, with functional gaps that are concreted and a small opening for water leakage is left.
