The Municipality of Vevcani is a unit of local self-government located in the Southwest planning region of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, with a total population of 2,433 according to the last official census of 2002 with a total area of ​​35 km2 and one settlement. The municipality of Vevcani is one of the smallest municipalities in the country, with a budget that is not enough even to cover the running costs of the operation, ie one of the financially weakest local governments with the statute of a rural municipality. Vevcani abounds in natural resources and cultural heritage and is a recognizable tourist destination. In the past three years, the municipality of Vevcani has made great efforts with its own and external financial resources to prepare the necessary technical documentation for reconstruction and construction of communal and road infrastructure on the territory of the municipality. However, as the smallest rural municipality with one settlement, the local self-government faces numerous challenges and difficulties in achieving the adopted strategic goals and its competencies, especially due to the small and limited budget available to the municipality and lack of professional staff. Due to this, the municipality is forced to provide the construction of the basic infrastructure in order to create quality living conditions for the local population with funds from the central government, other domestic or international institutions. The purpose of this project is to solve the problems faced daily by the population living on the proposed streets and which daily require the municipality to provide decent living conditions, ie to obtain modern road infrastructure to access their homes, given the fact that to this day they reach them by way of earth. On the other hand, the realization of this proposed project will have a positive effect and benefit for the entire local population and visitors to Vevcani as a recognizable tourist destination, because some of the proposed streets are located on the main streets leading to the Monument of Nature. Vevcani Izvori ”and part of the catering facilities for food and accommodation in Vevcani. Also, there is no adequate street lighting on these streets, so that after the reconstruction of the local streets, the same will be installed and will give a significant contribution to increasing the safety and security of the movement of citizens through the settlement. The project proposal will reconstruct five local streets, as follows: Reconstruction of the local street "Popagjini - Kukoj"; Reconstruction of the local street "Pluskoj"; Reconstruction of the local street "Bebekoj koshari"; Reconstruction of the local street "Kalanoj1"; Reconstruction of the local street "Murjey Drenje" with a total length of 645.33m '. This project proposal will cover about 100 households or about 350 citizens who will have a direct benefit. The streets will be reconstructed by laying asphalt, behaton tiles and stone slabs, according to the basic projects.
