The municipality of Rosoman is a rural municipality located in the central part of the Republic of Macedonia, more precisely in the Tikvesh valley. The municipality stretches along the lower course of the Black River and borders the municipalities of Kavadarci, Negotino, Gradsko and Caska. The territory of the municipality of Rosoman is mostly located in the plains, except for small parts of it which are hilly and mountainous. According to the altitude of about 140 meters above sea level, it is one of the lowest in the country. The regional road P-106 passes through the territory of the municipality of Rosoman, which connects the Vardar valley with Pelagonija, and is also a direct connection with corridor 10, ie the highway Skopje-Gevgelija, which passes through the territory of the municipality of Rosoman. When it comes to the problems that this municipality is facing, research has been done to identify problems that rise high on the list of priorities of the municipality. The problem with the water supply in some of the settlements in the municipality of Rosoman has not been solved yet. This is exactly the case with the village of Manastirec. This village is located in the Tikves area and it is 10 km north of the municipality of Kavadarci, 19 km west of the municipality of Negotino and 5.2 km south of the municipality of Rosoman. There is currently a shortage of drinking water in the village of Manastirec. The existing water supply network does not meet the current needs, while the proposed project would solve that problem. Due to the uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the population (introduction of restrictions for 12 hours a day) and lack of conditions for regular maintenance of hygiene, conditions of infectious diseases (stomach diseases, jaundice) and the possibility of an epidemic were created. Namely, a water supply system has been built in this village, but despite that, there is a great shortage of water, especially in the summer, when consumption is significantly increased. This shows the fact that the supply of environmentally friendly clean drinking water in the municipality, especially in the village of Manastirec, is a serious problem that is highly ranked and needs to be addressed urgently. Also, the need to build a water supply system arises due to the fact that in this village once lived about 500 families but some of them moved out, and one of the reasons was the lack of basic living conditions in terms of communal infrastructure. For this reason, the number of inhabitants has decreased to about 350. With the realization of the project there is a potential for return of a certain number of people who lived in this village, but also a greater visit to the village by the local owners of weekend houses. The project includes distribution of drinking water through a supply pipeline with a length of 1.6 km and a drinking water tank with a volume of 60 m3, of which is further distributed through the existing network to each household. The primary benefit will be solving the problem of drinking water shortage for the next 30 years. According to the above, the municipality of Rosoman and the village of Manastirec need to build a new alternative water supply system. The final and long-term outcome of this project is finding a permanent solution for supplying environmentally sound and clean drinking water to the inhabitants of the village Manastirec, as well as preventing pollution of groundwater and surface water, soil, flora and fauna.
