The proposed project refers to the reconstruction of an access road from the regional road Struga - Debar (branch to the Municipality of Vevcani) where the main road leading to the village Podgorci and the village Labunista is separated. It is the fastest road for the inhabitants of these villages to the city of Struga and the regional road, as well as the main road for access to the Health Center in Vevcani which treats the citizens of these places. It is a project area at a distance of about 15 km from the Municipality of Struga with a total number of about 14,000 inhabitants (of which 4,000 in Podgorci and about 10,000 inhabitants in the village of Labunista). The current condition of this road is a ruined access road due to the intensity of use and, because over 30 years have passed since its construction. The road has been patched on several occasions but the intensity of use and weather disasters have devastated it greatly. It is additionally important to say that in the region of these two villages are located over 350 businesses that use this road every day. With the realization of this project for reconstruction of the access road to the village of Podgorci, road infrastructure in the length of 1381 meters will be reconstructed. The main goal of the project is rehabilitation and reconstruction of the road to the settlements of Podgorci and Labunista in order to improve communication, opportunities for economic development, reduce migration and retention of the population - which is one of the main priorities of the Municipality of Struga, Southwest planning region, ministries. and the Government of The following goals are singled out as specific goals of the project: • To upgrade and develop the existing infrastructure and quality of life. • To improve the opportunities for economic development of the targeted region. • To contribute to the reduction of emigration and migrations at the level of municipality, region and abroad. The Municipality of Struga has been emphasizing the problem with the communication problems of the population in these villages for a long time, which are the largest corpus of the population with the highest growth rate and number of children in the Municipality of Struga and in the Southwest Planning Region. As a task that is inevitable in this process is to mark the route of the road that needs to be reconstructed, to rehabilitate the lower line and to reconstruct the upper layer of the road in the length of 1381 m. The project is part of the priority projects in the Development Strategy of the Municipality of Struga 2015-2019, and is included in the development programs, namely the Program for development of road infrastructure and the Program for improvement of infrastructure to attractive locations (Podgorecko lake on the mountain Jablanica).
