COORDINATION SYSTEM IN PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF POLICY FOR BALANCED REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Construction of water supply system for the lower zone in the village of Radolishta - 2nd phase (final phase)
PROJECT DETAILS
The village of Radolishta is a rural settlement in the municipality of Struga with a population of about 6,000 inhabitants and is located near the highway Struga - Kjafa San near the border of the Republic of Macedonia with the Republic of Albania. Although it is a rural settlement, Radolishta has the character of a small urban settlement due to the large number of inhabitants and the migrant character. There are a large number of businesses in the village, mostly from construction, but also from other industries. The businesses are mostly located in the lower zone of the village due to the accessibility of the terrain and the proximity of the highway leading to the border with the Republic of Albania. At the moment this location is not covered by a communal water supply network, but water is supplied by individual wells that are often not bacteriologically tested and where the water supply is often conditioned by groundwater levels at certain times of the year. Due to this situation, there are certain difficulties in the functioning of businesses, but also of households in the project area. Due to the large number of migrant workers from the village, some of whom have already invested in starting a new business, there is great potential for attracting their investments and opening new businesses in this rural area, but the lack of water supply infrastructure largely prevents the realization of this idea. . Completion of the new water supply system will eliminate the shortage of drinking water and possible interruptions in the water supply that would result from the low groundwater level in the wells currently in use. Additionally, conditions will be created for opening new businesses and attracting investments from migrant workers from this area. Opening new businesses will reduce the unemployment rate, which directly affects the growth of living standards and quality of life. This project consists of several phases from which the first phase is realized and with the second phase which is also the final phase the project will be completely completed.
