The project envisages energy efficient lighting in Strumyani and implementation of energy efficient construction activities, as well as lighting in the municipality of Vasilevo. The project will also educate the public on environmental issues and is expected to increase inclusiveness and care for the environment. Thus, the project will have a long-term impact on reducing electricity and heating consumption in both municipalities, thus reducing CO2 emissions in the cross-border area. The administrations of Vasilevo and Strumyani will reduce the costs for school maintenance and street lighting. The target investments will reduce CO2 emissions by 20% for each municipality, by reducing energy consumption by 35% compared to the starting point for each. The project will increase the capacity of local public institutions to implement energy efficiency measures and use of IOE. Main results: exchange of expertise and capacity of 30 representatives of the municipal administrations for implementation of energy efficiency policies, sharing of good and bad practices of energy-efficient management of public infrastructure in the municipalities of Vasilevo and Strumyani; hiring an external lecturer to present good EE and IOE practices and methods of public infrastructure from the cross-border region and abroad, which will provide an opportunity for municipal employees to get acquainted with the positive practices in the field of EE and IOE in public infrastructure; increase the capacity of 30 representatives of municipal administrations and managers of public infrastructure in Strumyani and Vasilevo - application of new technologies with remote control of heating systems, innovative insulation technologies, new EE heating, automatic control systems know lighting control , IOE in public infrastructure and combined application; mounted 424 LED street lights for traffic and overnight safety; reduction of CO2 emissions generated from electricity consumption by 20% and reduction of energy consumption for street lighting by 35% compared to the energy consumed before the introduction of LED lighting; Improving the energy efficiency of the municipal building with an area of ​​121.41 m2, reducing CO2 emissions by 20% through the investment in the primary school "Goce Delchev" in Sedlarci, where the energy consumption of the building will be 20% lower compared to the initial point before the investment.
