PROJECT DETAILS

The proposed project aims to further enhance cooperation, communication and exchange between the two municipalities, while creating and promoting the area as a region, creating bike paths that connect the two countries, visitors who enjoy similar experiences and good quality tourist services. Furthermore, the project intends to respond to the increase in the number of qualified staff, mainly focused on adventure guides, family guest houses and especially in improving the adventurous tourist infrastructure on bicycle paths and the qualified staff and infrastructure of the waiter centers. With the more developed sector for adventure tourism we will create directly 10 (ten) new and indirectly 50 new jobs within the project. Direct jobs will be adventure guides, staff at info points and accommodation / food providers. Indirect jobs will come from logistics providers, additional actors in the tourism value chain, and even from involved municipal employees. In the medium and long term, we expect an even greater number of direct as well as indirect jobs - all of which rely on the work done by this project. Furthermore, through the use of strong natural and cultural potential in the regions, we will invite and integrate regional, national and even international actors with tourism chains for development, marketing and sale of new adventure products. Another element refers to part of the infrastructure investment agreement. Based on the implemented infrastructure (40 km of cycling paths and renovation of two multifunctional visit centers) and the capacity built by this project, and with the products of adventure tourism developed by it, the cross-border region Mavrovo-Rostuse and Diber will be promoted and sold as ONE unified adventurous destination for active tourism. The region will be promoted at 2 (two) international (Eurobike / Garda) and 3 (three) national fairs (AL / MK / KS), and all tourism actors involved in the project will multiply this promotion in different target markets. Strong promotion of success will also come from our connection with key actors (trail builders / experts / magazines) on the mountain biking scene in Europe - the type of tourism that leads rural development in this project. Within three years after the project we expect at least 500 foreign guests for cycling and another 700 foreign guests for further products from active tourism (hiking, etc.).
