SMART-CUL-TOUR will provide a significant long-term impact as the action focuses on infrastructure interventions that have a specific tangible impact on cross-border communities. At the same time, the Project supports cooperation between various institutions, professionals and stakeholders related to tourism in the cross-border region and addresses challenges such as: preserving cultural resources, promoting the well-being of local communities, limiting the impact of tourism on the environment. environment and restoration of historical and cultural monuments that makes them more accessible to different groups of visitors. Furthermore, the Project supports cross-border cooperation, promotes good neighborly relations, fosters social cohesion and stimulates the sustainable socio-economic development of the targeted cross-border region. Taking into account the special needs and limitations of the target countries, we can conclude that the cross-border regions share an almost identical commitment to use all available natural, cultural and historical resources, but so far they have not been sufficiently integrated to become a real driving force for tourism in the cross-border region of both participating countries. Thus, the establishment of the Museum in the Municipality of Pustec, as well as the joint efforts of the Municipality of Bitola and the NI "Institute and Museum - Bitola" to improve the infrastructure in Heraclea and increase its attractiveness for local and international tourists, show strong commitment of partners in the project for development of the cross-border region and for establishment of long-term professional and cooperative relations. The needs of both municipalities will be further met through the development of a joint integrated marketing strategy for the promotion and sale of SMART-CUL-TOUR tourism products / packages and the use of new ICT tools.
