PROJECT DETAILS

Within this project, delivery of specialized equipment is envisaged - modular crisis response system with module "Flood" and module "Forest fires" for both project partners. This equipment will help to adapt and mitigate the consequences of climate change and protect the local population of the municipality of Petrich and the municipality of Strumica from floods and fires. The envisaged equipment is an adequate means for disaster control for the volunteer formations of the two municipalities - 21 from Petrich and 10 from Strumica. Both volunteer formations will be trained within the project how to use the new equipment and will participate in the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of risk prevention and protection of the local population in crisis situations, in order to increase their capacity in the relevant area. . The development of a textbook, planned in the project activities and its presentation among students in schools, will raise awareness among young people about climate change and its consequences as well as opportunities for their response to crisis situations. With the implementation of this project, the municipal administrations of Petrich and Strumica will increase the capacity to manage and implement EU-funded projects, to prevent and mitigate the consequences of natural and man-made disasters, to ensure a safe life for the population in both municipalities.
