PROJECT DETAILS

The project focuses on the development of tourism in the Kyustendil region and the Northeast region, where a serious weakness on both sides of the border is the lack of systematic joint efforts to increase the value and popularization of cultural heritage. The project will develop a cross-border strategy for the development of a favorable tourist environment and the creation of a cross-border framework to support the tourism sector, the adoption and implementation of a joint strategy for a common tourist interpretation and use of cultural heritage. Joint cross-border events will be organized with the aim of strengthening human resources to implement joint solutions to the challenges and opportunities for the development of tourism-friendly tourism in the cross-border region. The strategy will be based on the development of a fruitful cultural environment for cultural heritage - a framework for directing, voluntarily regulating and identifying sustainable use of cultural heritage, informing and training, organizing cross-border events in order to build capacity and improve knowledge and practical skills in the local tourist communities of the target regions.
